Butter's new bed.

It's been on my mind to get Butter a new bed. And or bedroom set. She has had hand-me-downs her whole life. Her dressers I got at a garage sale and painted them. Even the crib we got at a consinment show. I just couldn't imagine paying the baby store prices for cribs. And that was totally fine with me, I felt that there were plenty of gently used items that would work just fine.
I still feel this way...
But the twin we had been using was barrowed and I wasn't going to paint it and the mattress/boxspring needed replacing. I remembered a friend of mine had a daybed with a trundle underneath. She is now married and the bed sits in her parents basement. I made a few calls and found out she was willing to part with it for a VERY good price. Now, to surprise Butter.
I told her Saturday morning that we were going to get her a "new" girl bed for her. One that in time would be useful for sleep-overs. She seemed excited. Until bedtime came and she wanted her old bed. She was afraid she knock her head on the railings...which is why there ar pillows all around the bed.

She woke up the next day and had cleared off her bed saying she just needed more room!

It was so cute. It's been 3 nights now and she's come to love her bad, she now keeps asking about the sleep-overs.

What she said she likes most about the bed: "I like the heart and the gold things they look like a princess bed."

It sure does Buttercup. It sure does.

  1. It's a cute princess bed! We have a trundle bed to but use the drawer part for storage instead of an extra mattress.

  3. So fun!

When we changed Jaylee from her crib to a big girl bed (finally at age 3) she didn't want to! It took 6 months for her to warm up to the thing! And now I miss it, she can get out of this thing whenever she wants!

  5. I love trundle beds- what a sweet one that is for a little girl. We got our 12 year old daughter a day bed from Ikea last year (we have always had used beds too- it was a great purchase though, and made her room seem much more spacious.
