Random Dozen

Linky linky Periwinkie...It's Random Dozen Wednesday. Linda's got your questions and hey you can cheat on your answers too, just read the other's answers.

1. Describe the best sandwich in the world, according to you.

I'm not qualified to answer this one, I don't like sandwiches. But I will say a sandwich without a pickle I won't even try!
2. Which inspires you more: a good conversation, a song, a book or movie?
A "good" conversation for me involves a little gossip, which is BAD, so that can't be "inspiring". A song can get stuck in your head, and that can drive a person NUTS. I've seen plenty of movies and thought to myself and they spent a million dollars on that? I've read some terrible books...BUT there IS one that inspires me to live a better life each day...SO if the conversation, song, book or movie talks about Jesus THAT inspires me!
3. What is your favorite board game?
Ooh, right now it's United States Bingo! It has bingo cards with different states on it and they have what they are known for producing. Then you pick tiles out of the sack. Example (the tile will say) Georgia Peaches {then who ever has Georgia gets that tile, the first one to fill all there state tiles wins. We all fight over the cards because we all have favorite states!
4. As you grow older, are you more or less patient with small children?
I loved Sara's answer so I'm gonna copy it...It all depends on the day and what kids.
5. Name one item you never let yourself run out of.
Gas. And I mean BOTH car and body kinds!
6. Do you agree with Tennyson's assertion, "'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all?"
I don't like this question. I don't think we know the FULL effect of Love, we haven't stood in His presence yet; but we all know plenty about loss, and if pure love is so heavenly then the loss wouldn't bother us because we won't FEEL it there...

7. Name one national treasure or monument that you have visited.
I drive over the Mighty Mississippi nearly every day.
8. Which is more painful, to be disappointed in someone else or to be disappointed in yourself?
My childhood was filled with disappointments in the people who were suppose to love and protect me. So if I'm going to compare myself as a parent to the models I've had it is more painful to be disappointed in someone else. I think/pray/weigh my decisions pretty well, so by the time I make it it's the best choice for me. yes I can disappoint myself, but it is more painful FOR me when I place trust in someone and they abuse it.
9. What makes your kitchen uniquely yours?
Right now I hate my kitchen. It's small, outdated, uninspiring. I try to stay out of it as much as possible. I have a bunch of different shaped & sized baskets hanging about the cupboards...
10. Are you a crafty person?
Yes, I've been working on a couple little things lately.

11. What is your favorite traditional picnic or bbq (cookout) food?
Pringles! The only time I buy them is if we're going to the beach where we pack a cooler and spend all day! Everything else is always different but the Pringles are ALWAYS the first thing the kids want/ask for.
12. Name one leisurely activity you enjoyed over Labor Day Weekend.
I made Chili over the weekend, it was cool here. I'm talking sweatshirts and fuzzy socks. So it was perfect to snuggle up to a bonfire, listen to country songs and watch my kids fall asleep in their chairs.

  1. I love chili weather! I made a brisket in my crock pot on Sunday because it was coolish. I used the leftovers in another dish yesterday but it had gotten warm again and somehow it wasn't the same eating that kind of comfort meal in hot weather.

    Have a great day!
