Wonderful Weekend.

I had a wonderful weekend. Can I just brag for a minute? I was invited over to my Mother in-law Tonya's house. I call her Mom. She had a bunch of us ladies over for lunch. This woman is so wonderful. I got LUCKY.
She had the table all set for us like this:

She made salad with this creamy balsamic dressing with cranberries and almonds that were honey roasted...And then the highlight, (I can't believe I'm not saying that the gingerbread cake was the highlight but this was SO much better.)

It was Butternut Squash chowder. It was SOOOO good. All creamy and chowdery and yummy and warm. Bacony and garlicy and chunky. MMMM good.

The picture does NOT do it justice and I will be heading ove to William Sonoma soon to pick myself up some Butternut squash puree.

It was ladies only. So nobody was there to take our picture. (I can't work the timer either.) Grandma was there, Gloria (brother-inlaws' wifes mother) Stacey and her mom, Tonya and myself.

FYI Stacey is doing great, baby is looking good, she see the doctor again in two weeks. We talked a lot about that. Which is so fun. Rob was home with the kiddos who drove him nuts, they new that when lunch was over they got to come over and spend the night! And you know what THAT means ladies!

Hubby and I went to dinner and it was so nice. We've gone out a few time lately both with and without the kids, but for some reason this was just beyond enjoyable. It was a treasure.

Today Gloria is coming over to show me how to make HER caramel corn. It is the best I've ever had and I can't wait to learn her secrets, which she assures me aren't really secrets. Roo has his Thanksgiving meal at preschool today and tomorrow is his pre-K screening. This week is going to be a blur.

I don't have any pictures of just me and my Mom, Tonya...I do now!

I love my Mom! And of course one with the kiddos.
