WIWW

It's What I wore Wednesday! Boy, do I have some treats for you! Firstly, I remembered to take pictures.
Usually I care more about comfort then cuteness. When your body image isn't through the roof LOVE IT, we use clothes to make us feel pretty...
I happen to love the feeling that I'm not a sucked in sausage. Which means this is one of my favorite things to wear around the house...
Cleaning the house never felt so good!
This sweater I found at JC Penny, it is light weight and comfy
Jeans: Lee from Kohls. (I love Lee, they have done a great job making their jeans cute, affordable AND comfy! Hello stretch!)
Shoes: Walmart.
My hair is air-dried. I have this natural-permed look. It comes from the fact that I color my hair. I had stick straight hair as a kid. People tell me I'm lucky... really who wants a frizzy-pop top? Cause if I don't slather it with straighting goo or spend 30 minutes fighting it with a hot tool...

Next outfit.

This is my favorite scarf! I will wear it with a white shirt, navy shirt or this purple shirt.
I believe it is from Target, but I bought it for a trip to Chicago nearly 3 years ago.
I also love this cardi I scored at Marshal's It is Kenar I think I paid $20. I should have shown the back, it has this gather straight down the back...next time.
Another pair of Lee jeans. I have short legs and I can easily find the length I need in Lee's.
Hair is styled with a wide barrel curling iron.(note the lack of frizz.)
Next outfit.

Another scarf, this one I just bought at Target! We reached upper 60's this week! I broke out the nude mules, bought last year at Marshal's. The sweater I paid $6.97 at SAM'S CLUB! Not joking.
Yet another pair of Lee jeans...
Rocking the side braid with a cute little flower bobbie pin.
Now for the treats I promised. So after I rocked the side braid, it had to come out. I am the kinda person that runs a brush through her hair before bed and then piles the hair up in a scrunchy so I can sleep peacefully.
Here is what happened when side braid met brush...
Oh yea!
I laughed so hard!
And maybe you'll remember this look...
If you grew up in the 80's you know this look. You wanted this look!
Happy Wednesday y'all!

What I Wore Wednesday

I'm linking up today...join us won't you?

Trying to get a picture, but the dog was having none of it...

She wanted in! (hate how pregnant I look in this one, and I'm NOT.)

As much as I love the paint colors in our home, as back drops, not so much...
Shirt: Kohls
Sweater: JcPenny
Jeans: Lee, Kohls
Shoes: JcPenny

This past weekend was spent with family, I wore a SMILE.
Hey in my world THAT counts.

I also wore a blouse my mom bought for me last year around this time...guess where from?

JcPenny.
Nope, not my favorite store but the times I do go in there, I usually get lucky...
Ooh, and I tried something different with my hair.
Curling it with a flat iron...crazy I know, but how cute?
(warning: it took forever 25 minutes.)
I am so wanting new glasses, these drive me nuts! Hopefully soon.

Day #7 of Joy Dare will be with tomorrows post.

What I Wore Wednesday

I haven't been blogging much writing much. I am teaching myself design things, trying to navigate through the HTML.

I got into this Meme.

Mostly to hold myself accountable for how much time I spend in "comfy" pants aka velour track suits.

Don't judge me, at least I wasn't walking around town or Walmart in pajama bottoms and slippers!

I found a pair of cords in my closet that I hadn't wore all (cough) winter.

In Minnesota winter starts
in October and ends in June. This year however we haven't seen much snow or below 0 days.

We've averaging 30s. CRAZY, in this part of the world anyway.

I paired them with my *new* favorite scarf and a pretty flower pin I can wear as a pin or in my hair...

And my ipad got a pretty *new* look...do you like it?

Here is a better look at my scarf...paired with a different top.

I wore my "ugly" shoes with my cords...these are my Haflingers. They are the most comfortable
shoes on the planet.

Arch support, width for those of us with chubby feet or in my case bunions.

(thank you genetics)

Oh, did I mention they are flat?!

LOVE them
.
I watched this cutie-patootie and learned how to do this...

The Double bun. It took me a few tries, which I find funny since the goal is for a "messy" bun, but in
order for it to look cute messy instead of lazy twist and ponytail...Cute huh?

I'm not going to lie, today I am sitting here in my pjs. we had our first big snowfall of the winter, and it's only fair I get to have a snow day where I drink obscene amounts of coffee, curl up by the fireplace and read a good book or a few good blogs...and NO HTML today!

Stuffed up.

Winter is usually my favorite season. It gets cold here, so cold people wonder why on earth someone would choose to live in Minnesota.
I love the snow. It's beautiful white stillness...
We have had very little snow this year, I've been looking at brown grass for the past 3 months. YUCK.
It is also the time in which I get relief from my allergies. Or I should.
It hasn't been cold enough to kill off a majority of the junk.
But the one thing I dislike very much about winter; Colds/flu.
I have been battling with a cold for a week now, it is driving me crazy. The stuffed up kind of crazy!
I love how the only things that give you relief are either not allowed with the other medication you are on OR you can't use longer then 3 days.
Annoying.
So I've been being a very bad girl. Every time I take something I'll say to Rob: "I took...you know, in case I go unconscious and you need to tell them what drugs I've taken."
I am weird like that, I do my best to follow directions, labels and warnings, but If I need to sleep and the only way to get it is a good dose of NyQuil, I am going to take the NyQuil and Goodnight Irene.
The Afrin I've been snorting using, says not to use more then 3 days.
What?!?
In what realm of reality does a cold last 3 days?
We are told no antibiotics because we could/are/did create a super bug...
A 3 day cold...that's funny. I want that cold.
I've done all I can do; ginger ale, Zycam, gone outside, stayed inside, gotten sleep, gotten no sleep, chicken souped myself so much if I see one more Campbells label I will chuck it out the window!
I am tired of being stuffed up. (and no I haven't been to the doctor because the crud isn't the proper color to reward going to the doctor and having to listen to him say "It's a cold. Rest and plenty of liquids."
I've been enjoying books and TV shows.
Here's a list:

It's October!

I had a great time yesterday with 'I See What Your Saying'. I have met so many new friends.
Today I got news G'ma L. went to the hospital last night.

Good news Mom and Dad (Peaches ) are back finally from Whidbey Island. (Seattle) We are over joyed that they are back!

Butter has been turning into a little diva. (The apple not far from the tree I guess)
Today she came dressed for school in leggings, top, headband, knit gloves and asking for her make-up. LOL
She's 5. Someone, gave her High School Musical lipsticky stuff for her birthday last year. I HID the stuff. She found it over the summer and is obsessed with it. Anytime she'd leave it laying around I'd pick it up and hide it. She'd ask her Dad for it. Peaches would give it to her. I began throwing them away...(she wouldn't miss them right?) Umm WRONG! Well, I thought we were over it, I threw them all away. She found one. Cleverly asks me "Mom, where is my HSM make-up?" "Butter, I don't know. They are all gone. They got lost over the summer, 'member you'd take them places." She kept asking and asking. I figured she KNEW something.
"Butter, If you know something I don't why don't you just tell me instead of arguing with me about it." Sure enough. She found one in a drawer in the downstairs closet behind mountains of out grown clothes. I'm shaking my head at two things Why was she in THERE? And That KID is persistent to a fault! For the last few days also she been sitting in the back of the bus. My sweet little angel girl who as soon as she got on sat right by the door is now boldly walking confidently to the back of the bus. "Well, Mom that's where Brock, Micah and Emily sit." (These are kindergartners.) When I asked why the change of seats, she says "We like it better in the back."
Like it BETTER? Better for what? I used to ride the bus...not that I did anything...but yeah, the back was the place to be...you know away from the bus driver. You were cool if you sat in the back. But you had to be accepted to sit in the back...Is she one of the COOL kids? Will she turn into a "mean girl" She's obsessed with make-up, clothes, she talks a lot about boys more then girls.
You've all seen MY pictures and Peaches'. Coolness does NOT run in this family. It wouldn't surprise me if she had lots of friends, she is sweet. But cool kids have reps to protect. AKA Grease Lighting?
I know I have to be blowing this out of proportion. Who's got advice?
On another level of cute, Roo came down and sat on my lap for a chat. We talked of trucks, cars the color red. All of his favorites. Then he squeezed my neck and says "I love you Mamma." And the hug went on forever. He is such a sweet snugly boy.
Can y'all believe it's October? It's my second favorite month!

Part 2 of the Worst Day

Ahh, yes that time of year that is forever documented in our history as to how we looked and how "fashionable" we were. Ok thought we were! My mom likes to rib me on the outfit of choice throughout my high school years. Fresh off the Gongo, Gappy, Muppet years of Jr. high. (those were all the names I was called) Again with the necklace. Arrgh. I was in all of my pictures wearing some form of jewelery. Let me explain the names for you.
Gongo for the glasses, Gappy for the teeth and Muppet because I was stick thin and had a big head, with big hair. These names hurt beyond belief. I switched districts and High School went better...

This wasn't a "school picture" but a picture taken at school, after gym. To show you how scary skinny I was. That is me in the red. Trust me when I say I ate like a horse! Love the crop top and Candy striper shirt. Oh, so the outfit of choice...because I was so thin I wanted to "bulk up" I'd wear long johns under boxer shorts, high top Nike sneakers with a long t-shirt over my "pants". It hid my achingly thin body. All I can say is, I wasn't the only one who wore it, it was cool...and at least I was covered up. Not like the way it is now. Check out the red Sally Jesse glasses! My partner Jeff and I won our Ballroom dance contest for gym. No disco ball trophy but I got a ribbon!

This is one of my Senior pictures. I never grew out of the stripes. Red is one of my favorite colors. As you can see, the glasses are gone, the hair...well, perms were big. And those teeth! Thank God for braces! Going from geek to sheek is no small feat. It was painful. I ended my High school career on a high note...Gongo Gappy Muppet was chosen by her peers to give the graduation speech. Oh yes! I do not hang out with any of my classmates we never "stayed in touch." While they all went off to college, I went off to Boston to be a nanny. I grew up out there. It made me realize I wanted a family.I met Peaches in a bar. I'm not the bar kind. We met on a Sat. Three weeks to the day we were engaged. That is a story to tell on Oct. 7...

Here is Butter before she left this morning. I did my part. I blew dry, combed out, curled and primped her hair. Now it's up to the professionals. YES, I did send a note asking to smooth her hair if needed! She doesn't need to have scary pictures taunting her the rest of her life. Her outfits will do that for her! LOL!

Sweet and Sassy

Butter came upstairs the other day all dressed. I mean she was ALL dressed and ready to G.O.
I'm not sure who the hot date was... Here, see for yourself.

The dog in the picture is Sudsy. G,ma Lo's dog. It seems like every time I want to take a picture the kids have to hold something! Anyway, I can't stay long I'm fielding calls from Vogue and Glamour.

On a sadder note my Niece Tee had emergency surgery yesterday to remove a cyst from her Fallopian tube. She was a brave girl and is doing just fine. She is looking forward to going home and staring school. (She will have to miss the first week to recover.)
